How would you deal with an MVC of a high-profile bowl-full-of-jelly bariatric patient involving multiple small patients as well as nine caribou-type animals?
Using some tongue-in-cheek we look at the role of the Public Information Officer (PIO) in regards to media relations, extrication of the bariatric patient, arriving safely, establishing a safe work zone, alternate fuel vehicles, START triage, and briefly discuss dealing with injured animals. We also look at the hazardous material Christmas Magic, reindeer droppings, looting of presents, and the defibrillation of Rudolph.
So from Rick Russotti, Robert Raheb, Allen Bubel, Kyle David Bates, and Chris Kaiser we wish you a safe and joyous Holiday Season. Merry Christmas!
On a serious, sad note we dedicate this episode to EMT Laura Elizabeth Pullam, 29, of Lowndesboro, Alabama who died after being struck by a passing car on December 15, 2010. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family.
